    Antipyrine with benzocaine - otic

    (an-tee-pie-reen with ben-zoh-cane)

    Otogesic Usage: this medication contains benzocaine, topical anesthetic which numbs the skin, and antipyrine, a pain reliever. this is used to relieve pain & discomfort about certain ear problems.

    How to use Otogesic: this medication is used in ears as directed. To administer properly, lie on youre side or tilt the head so ear faces up. Put prescribed number of drops into ear using the dropper provided. do not insert dropper in to the ear & avoid touching dropper to ear or any other surface. To allow the drops to run into ear canal, hold earlobe up & back in adults & down & back in children. Keep ear tilted for 1 to 2 minutes. a soft cotton plug may be gently inserted into the ear to keep ear drops in place. Use a plug only if directed to do so.

    Otogesic side effects: Minor stinging, burning or tenderness about the ear may occur when it is first used. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, or if your symptoms don't improve within several days, inform you're healthcare professional. Notify you're doctor if any of following effects occur: irritation, rash, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Otogesic Precautions: Tell your physician if you have any of following conditions: infection, any allergies. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor.

    Otogesic drug interactions: Tell some your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Otogesic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken it medicine by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Otogesic special notes: for comfort, drops may be warmed to body temperature by rolling bottle in your hands for some minutes before using them. do not heat in microwave or place in hot water.

    If you missed Otogesic dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Otogesic Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Avoid freezing.
