Hydro Tussin HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. it combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Hydro Tussin HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often then directed. this medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack.

Hydro Tussin HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1-st several days as youre body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Hydro Tussin HC Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this pill causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts of this drug found at breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Hydro Tussin HC drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Hydro Tussin HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.

Hydro Tussin HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this pill. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Hydro Tussin HC dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Hydro Tussin HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at the bathroom.
