Child's Ibuprofen Usage: Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which relieves pain & swelling (inflammation). it is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, backaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, arthritis, or athletic injuries. this medication is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. this medication works by blocking enzyme in youre body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain, swelling, and fever. do not give it drug to a children younger than 2 years of age unless directed to do so by healthcare professional.
How to use Child's Ibuprofen: Shake bottle well before each dose. Measure out each dose carefully & take this drug by mouth with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your physician directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it medication. If stomach upset occurs while taking this drug, take it with food, milk, or an antacid. dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. in children, dosage is also based on weight. Read the product instructions to find the appropriate dose for your child's weight, or consult the physician or healthcare professional if you have questions. If repeat doses are needed, they usually given 6 or 8 hours apart; or as directed by healthcare professional. in certain conditions (e.g., arthritis), it may take up to two weeks, taken regularly, before the full benefits of it med take effect. If you use this medication for migraine headache, & pain isnot relieved or worsens after first dose, tell your doctor immediately. If you are treating yourself or giving this medication to child for undiagnosed fever or pain, consult pharmacist immediately if symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, worsen or last since more than 3 days, or if new symptoms appear.
Child's Ibuprofen side effects: Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, diarrhea, constipation, drowsiness, & dizziness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional or physician promptly. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any about these serious side effects occur: stomach pain, swelling of hands or feet, sudden or unexplained weight gain, ringing in the ears (tinnitus). Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any about these unlikely but serious side effects occur: vision changes, rapid or pounding heartbeat, simple bruising or bleeding. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: change in amount of urine, severe headache, very stiff neck, mental/mood changes, persistent sore throat or fever. this pill may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from stomach or intestines. If you notice any of following unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen and consult you're doctor or healthcare professional immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. this med may sometimes cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. If you notice any about next highly unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking ibuprofen & consult you're physician or pharmacist immediately: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual/extreme tiredness. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact some your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Child's Ibuprofen Precautions: it drug shouldnot be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or doctor if you have: severe kidney disease, allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib). Limit alcoholic beverages. this medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol and tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase youre risk for stomach bleeding. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information. this pill may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use a sunscreen & wear protective clothing when outdoors. this product can contain sugar. Caution is advised if you have diabetes. Ask your pharmacist or pharmacist about the safe use of this product. Caution is advised when using it drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects about medication, especially stomach bleeding & kidney effects. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during first six months of pregnancy. it isnot recommended for use during last 3 months of pregnancy due to the potential for serious harm & interference with normal labor/delivery. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. this drug passes into breast milk. While they're have been no reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Child's Ibuprofen medication interactions: Before using it med, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist about every prescription & nonprescription goods you may use, especially of: alendronate, other medications for arthritis (e.g., aspirin, methotrexate), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone), cyclosporine, HBP pills (including ACE inhibitors such as captopril, angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as losartan, & beta-blockers such as metoprolol), lithium, another NSAIDs (e.g., naproxen, celecoxib), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, triamterene). check every prescription & nonprescription medicine labels carefully for many contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as aspirin or naproxen) which are similar to this drug. If you are also taking aspirin, as prescribed by you're doctor for reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually these dosages 81-325 mg per day), continue to take the aspirin and consult youre pharmacist or pharmacist before using ibuprofen. don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or physician approval.
Child's Ibuprofen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness, loss of consciousness, or seizures.

If you missed Child's Ibuprofen dose: If you are prescribed it medication on regular schedule (not just 'as needed') & you miss dose, use this as soon as you remember. If this is near clock of following dose, skip missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
