Warning: it drug has caused kidney problems, nerve damage or permanent hearing loss, even at usual doses. Hearing loss can occur even after the med is stopped. If you already have kidney problems or hearing difficulty, tell your physician. Notify your doctor immediately if any about following occur: ringing at youre ears, hearing loss, unusual change in amount of urine, dizziness, numbness, skin tingling, muscle twitching or seizures. this drug may be stopped if you develop kidney or hearing problems. you're pharmacist will monitor youre progress to minimize the possibility of these effects occurring & may run certain tests (e.g., hearing and/or kidney tests). do not use this pill with other meds that can cause nerve, kidney or hearing problems. other factors that increase the risk of these side effects occurring include advanced age or dehydration (unusual thirst).

Neomycin Sulfate Usage: it medication is an antibiotic used before bowel surgery to prevent infection. Its also used in treatment of coma due to liver disease.
How to use Neomycin Sulfate: Take this medication by mouth as directed. May take this on a full or empty stomach. Follow instructions closely regarding diet & other meds.
Neomycin Sulfate side effects: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ache, or soreness in mouth or rectal area may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your pharmacist. Notify some your healthcare professional if you experience: ringing in ears, trouble hearing, dizziness, difficulty urinating, rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Neomycin Sulfate Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: a muscle disorder, Parkinson's disease, hearing loss, bowel disorders, kidney problems, allergies (especially to antibiotics). this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're doctor. It's not known if neomycin passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Neomycin Sulfate drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Neomycin Sulfate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Neomycin Sulfate special notes: Neomycin has been found to have an effect on lowering blood cholesterol levels when used alone or in combination with niacin. this, however, isnt an approved use of drug. If your physician has prescribed this for you for lowering cholesterol, discuss diet & another tablet therapies as well.
If you missed Neomycin Sulfate dose: When used before bowel surgery, doses scheduled based on when surgery will occur. Therefore, It's important to take each dose as scheduled & follow dietary restrictions & bowel cleaning procedures closely. If you miss dose about this medication or forget a step as outlined, consult your health care professional for advice on establishing new schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose of drug to catch up. When used for coma, take missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for next dose, skip the missed dose & resume regular dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose.
Neomycin Sulfate Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
