Benzocaine - otic

Otocain Usage: this medication is used to relieve pain, itching & discomfort associated with ear infections, injury or other ear conditions.

How to use Otocain: for best effects, this med must be used as directed. do not use this drug more many times or continue to use this for longer than directed. Apply ear drops to affected ears as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper or let it touch your ear. If the medication has been refrigerated, hold the bottle in youre hand for few minutes to warm it. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear up. Place dropper directly over ear and administer the prescribed number of drops. To help the drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold earlobe up & back and in kid, hold the earlobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for about two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so. do not rinse dropper.

Otocain side effects: this med may temporarily sting or burn you're ear for minute or two when applied. If it continues or becomes bothersome, inform you're physician. Notify your pharmacist immediately if you develop: skin rash, ear itching or burning, redness/swelling or pain in or around ears. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Otocain Precautions: Tell some your physician your medical history, especially about: infections, any allergies. this tablet should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor.

Otocain med interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: another ear preparations. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.

Otocain Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Otocain special notes: If condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after a few days, consult some your doctor.

If you missed Otocain dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; don't take it if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Otocain Storage: it medication should be stored at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. Discard it if solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
