    Guaifenesin & guaifenesin w/pseudoephedrine kit - oral

    (gweye-fen-eh-sin/sue-doh-eff-ed-rin)

    med RX Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and chest congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant that relieves nasal congestion. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant that relieves dry, hacking coughs. this combination about medicines is used to treat symptoms due to colds, allergies, or certain upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, sinusitis).

    How to use pill RX: Take this med by mouth with full glass of water usually every 12 hours or as directed by your healthcare professional. this medication should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew the tablets. it kit comes with different colored morning doses & evening doses. Ask your pharmacist or physician how to use this med correctly & follow every instructions carefully. don't increase youre dose, take this more frequently, nor take this for longer periods of time than prescribed. If stomach upset occurs, you may take this with food or milk. It's recommended you drink plenty of clear fluids (water preferred; 6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.

    drug RX side effects: Nausea, headache, loss of appetite, nervousness, or dizziness, or rash may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen notify you're doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if you develop any about these serious side effects: blurred vision, unusually fast heartbeat, difficulty urinating (men only), trouble sleeping. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of these unlikely but serious side effects: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes, convulsions. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.

    med RX Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist your medical history, especially of: high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, glaucoma, thyroid problems, enlarged prostate, seizures, allergies (especially to other cough-and-cold products). Because it med may make you dizzy, use caution engaging at activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to effects of this product. Use cautiously. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. pseudoephedrine in it combination product passes into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Therefore, this product isnt recommended for use by nursing mothers.

    drug RX drug interactions: Tell some your physician of all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially: beta-blockers (e.g., metoprolol, propranolol), digoxin, stimulant meds (e.g., dextroamphetamine, methylphenidate), certain other HBP medicine (e.g., guanethidine, methyldopa, reserpine), cough-and-cold products, certain drugs used for depression (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants). don't use this pill if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline) within last 14 days. the guaifenesin at this product may interfere with certain laboratory tests (e.g., uric acid). don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.

    tablet RX Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea & vomiting, fast or irregular heartbeat, seizures, or mental confusion.

    drug RX special notes: do not share this product with others.

    If you missed tablet RX dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If It's near time of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

    medication RX Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store at bathroom. Keep out about reach of children.
