Hydro Tussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Hydro Tussin DM: Take it tablet as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules and long-acting pills should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased.

Hydro Tussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your physician if you develop any of these effects while taking this medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if it med makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

Hydro Tussin DM Precautions: Tell your pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts about this medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Hydro Tussin DM medication interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Hydro Tussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Hydro Tussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Hydro Tussin DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if this is near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Hydro Tussin DM Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
