High Potency Calcium Usage: Calcium supplements are used to ensure an adequate intake of calcium during important periods of bone growth such as in childhood, during pregnancy and while breast-feeding. in adults, calcium is used to prevent osteoporosis (deterioration of bone).
How to use High Potency Calcium: Take with a large glass of water during or after a meal. Use as directed. If you using a chewable product, it should be chewed well before swallowing. If you are using an effervescent pill, it must be dissolved in a glass about cold water or juice before taking this. Allow the tablet to stop fizzing before drinking. Drink liquid slowly. Because calcium can interfere with the absorption of other drugs, don't take other medications within 2 hours of taking calcium.
High Potency Calcium side effects: Calcium is generally well tolerated. High levels of calcium can cause some adverse effects. Notify your pharmacist if you experience any of following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, stomach pain, thirst, dry mouth, increased urination. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or doctor.
High Potency Calcium Precautions: If you have any about following health problems, consult you're doctor before using this medication: diarrhea, stomach trouble, parathyroid disease, lung disease (sarcoidosis), kidney stones. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. few forms of calcium are known to be excreted into breast milk. Though their have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
High Potency Calcium medication interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription & nonprescription medications you may use, especially: vitamins, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxacin), gallium nitrate, cellulose sodium phosphate, etidronate, magnesium sulfate, phenytoin. don't eat large amounts of bran or whole grain cereals and breads. They may reduce absorption of calcium. Also, consuming alcohol, big amounts of caffeine, & tobacco smoking may affect absorption about calcium. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
High Potency Calcium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include severe nausea & vomiting, weakness, or constipation.
High Potency Calcium special notes: Foods rich in calcium include: dairy products & leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale, & collards. look for foods fortified with calcium such as orange juice & flour. they're is no difference between calcium products derived from natural or synthetic sources.
If you missed High Potency Calcium dose: Take missed dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose. If this is time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule. do not double dose.
High Potency Calcium Storage: Store in room temperature & keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom. don't freeze the liquid forms.
