Glycerin Usage: this drug is used to treat constipation.
How to use Glycerin: Unwrap suppository & moisten with lukewarm water. Lie down on your left side with right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with left knee bent). Push suppository into the rectum with you're finger. don't use more of this med than directed on package label or by your healthcare professional. do not use for longer than 1 week unless directed by you're doctor. Consult some your doctor or physician. Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence.
Glycerin side effects: Skin irritation or burning around rectum may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify youre pharmacist. Very unlikely but report promptly: blood in stools, persistent urge to empty bowel, persistent diarrhea. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Glycerin Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional your medical history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. it is not known if glycerin is excreted at to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Glycerin med interactions: Tell your doctor of every nonprescription & prescription med you may use, especially of: other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Glycerin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken this medicine by mouth, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Glycerin special notes: do not share this medication with others. To prevent constipation drink 4 to six glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet and exercise regularly.
If you missed Glycerin dose: Generally, this medication is only used 'as needed'. Consult youre pharmacist for more information.
Glycerin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture.
