Vanacon Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. this combination drug is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Vanacon: this med is best taken with, or after, a meal or snack. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Vanacon side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur 1st few days as you're body adjusts to the drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Vanacon Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this tablet causes you to feel drowsy. money this product's ingredient list since phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. at least one of ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Vanacon drug interactions: Tell youre physician of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Vanacon Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Vanacon special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Vanacon dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near clock for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Vanacon Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
