Duricef Usage: this medication is cephalosporin antibiotic & is used to treat wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Duricef: liquid suspension form of it med must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept in a constant level. Do this by taking pill at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take it medication until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse about infection.
Duricef side effects: this med can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects. If they persist or become severe, inform your doctor promptly. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: fever, simple bleeding or bruising, a change at the amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or physician.
Duricef Precautions: Before taking it medication, tell your pharmacist if you have: allergies (including penicillins, cephalosporins, or any other drug), kidney disease. Use of it drug for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of drug. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. It's not known if this medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Duricef medication interactions: Tell your doctor about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: meds used for gout such as probenecid. this med may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. it drug can cause false positive results in tests for sugar in urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather then Clinitest tablets. Blood sugar testing is not affected. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Duricef Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
Duricef special notes: this medication has been prescribed since your current condition only. do not use it later for other infection or give this to someone else. a different med may be necessary.
If you missed Duricef dose: If you should miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless this is almost clock for the following dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.
Duricef Storage: Follow label warnings about whether or not to refrigerate. do not freeze. do not store in bathroom. Discard any unused portion after 14 days because drug loses potency.
