Duricef Usage: this medication is an antibiotic that is used to treat variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Duricef: Antibiotics work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do this by taking medication at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. it medication works best when taken on an empty stomach. However, if stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food. Continue to take this drug until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping med too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse about infection.
Duricef side effects: this drug can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your pharmacist promptly. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: fever, simple bleeding or bruising, change at amount of urine, seizures. An allergic reaction to it med is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or pharmacist.
Duricef Precautions: Before taking it medication, tell youre doctor if you are allergic to any medications, especially: penicillins, cephalosporins. Inform your pharmacist about any medical conditions, especially of: kidney disease. Use about it med for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Caution is advised when using it drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to side effects about med. Tell your doctor if you pregnant before using it drug. it medication is excreted into breast milk. Though no problems have been noted, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Duricef med interactions: Tell your physician of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: medication for gout (e.g., probenecid). this drug may interfere with effectiveness about birth control pills. Discuss using another methods of birth control with your pharmacist. Cephalosporins can cause false positive results at tests since sugar in urine. Diabetics should use Clinistix rather than Clinitest tablets. Blood sugar testing is not affected. don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or doctor approval.
Duricef Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
Duricef special notes: this med has been prescribed for you're current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give this to someone else. a different medication may be necessary.
If you missed Duricef dose: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless It's almost time for the next dose. If Its nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.
Duricef Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in the bathroom.
