Coly Mycin M Parenteral Usage: Colistimethate is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety about serious bacterial infections (e.g., gram negative infections such as Pseudomonas or Klebsiella).
How to use Coly Mycin M Parenteral: Follow all instructions for the proper mixing, dilution with correct IV fluids, & dosing schedule. If you have any questions regarding use of this medication, consult your physician. one time mixing solution has been added to the vial, gently swirl or roll the vial back & forth between your hands. do not shake the vial. Before using, money this product visually since any unusual particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. Inject it drug in to a vein (IV) or into a muscle (IM) as directed by you're doctor. dosage & length of treatment is based on you're weight, medical condition, & response to therapy. do not mix this drug to be used at later clock. Only use freshly mixed vials and/or IV solutions. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in youre body is kept at a constant level. Therefore, give this med in evenly spaced intervals. Continue to use it medication until fully-prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in relapse of infection. Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Coly Mycin M Parenteral side effects: Nausea/vomiting, itching, and rash may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist promptly. Tell you're healthcare professional immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: tingling or numbness in arms/legs or tongue, slurred speech, dizziness, fever, lightheadedness, trouble breathing, change (decrease) in amount of urine, diarrhea. Use of it med for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral or vaginal fungal infection). Contact your physician if you notice white patches in your mouth, change in vaginal discharge, or other new symptoms. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Coly Mycin M Parenteral Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, any allergies. this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Caution is advised when using this med at the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. it med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. Based on info for similar meds, this medication may pass in to breast milk. Therefore, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Coly Mycin M Parenteral med interactions: it med isnt recommended for use with aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g., gentamicin, tobramycin), polymyxin, or sodium cephalothin. Using this medication with these goods can cause serious nerve side effects or kidney problems. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more following information. Tell you're physician of every prescription and nonprescription med you may use, especially: certain muscle relaxants (e.g., curare-like drugs such as decamethonium, ether, gallamine, sodium citrate, succinylcholine, or tubocurarine), live vaccines (e.g., oral polio vaccine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Coly Mycin M Parenteral Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: loss of coordination, uncontrolled eye movements (nystagmus), confusion, severe trouble breathing.
Coly Mycin M Parenteral special notes: this drug has been prescribed for youre current condition only. do not use it later for another infection unless told to do so by you're pharmacist. different tablet may be necessary in those cases. don't share this med with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., creatinine, BUN) will be performed to monitor you're progress.
If you missed Coly Mycin M Parenteral dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time about next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Coly Mycin M Parenteral Storage: Store unmixed/powder vials at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C). do not freeze. once mixed, suspension is super for 7 days & should be refrigerated between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). After mixing & subsequent dilution with IV fluids, it product is stable at room temperature or refrigerated (below 77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) for 24 hours.
