    Fomivirsen - ophthalmic (intravitreal)

    common brand names: Vitravene

    Vitravene Usage: it medication is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis, type of eye infection. this med does not treat CMV infection in another parts about you're body, nor is this cure for this infection.

    How to use Vitravene: this medication is injected directly into the eye (in intravitreal space). Generally, it is administered one time every another week since 1st two treatments & then all 4 weeks thereafter, or as directed. Follow every instructions for proper administration. Consult you're physician. Due to increased side effects, use of it pill within 4 weeks of treatment with cidofovir is not recommended. Consult some your physician or physician. If you currently taking antiviral drugs, continue to take them exactly as prescribed.

    Vitravene side effects: Minor pain, redness or swelling of the eye may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify some your pharmacist promptly. Report promptly: vision changes, severe pain/bleeding/discharge of eye. in the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.

    Vitravene Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional you're medical history, including: allergies. it medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. it is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Because about the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using it drug isnot recommended. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Vitravene drug interactions: Tell your doctor about every prescription and nonprescription drug you may use, especially of: cidofovir, other eye medications. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Vitravene Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Vitravene special notes: do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor you're progress. it is important to have regular follow-up examinations with you're doctor/ophthalmologist.

    If you missed Vitravene dose: If you miss a dose, consult your doctor/ophthalmologist to establish a new dosing schedule.

    Vitravene Storage: Store in refrigerator or at room temperature between 35 & 77 degrees F (2 - 25 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Discard any unused liquid in vial.
