Terazosin HCL Usage: Terazosin relaxes & opens blood vessels. it is used to treat HBP (hypertension). in males, it is used since symptoms of prostate enlargement such as urinary hesitancy and/or urgency.

How to use Terazosin HCL: Take this med exactly as prescribed. Try to take it at same time each day. Take the first dose at bedtime to minimize chances of getting dizzy or fainting. Capsules may be taken with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. it is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. do not stop taking this med without consulting your doctor. few conditions may become worse when medication is abruptly stopped. youre dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Terazosin HCL side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, constipation, loss about appetite, fatigue, nasal congestion or dry eyes may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician promptly. Tell youre physician immediately if you have any about these unlikely but serious side effects: chest pain, swelling of hands or feet, ringing in ears. Males - though It's unlikely to occur, if you get painful, prolonged erection, stop using this drug & seek immediate medical attention. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these highly unlikely but serious side effects: decreased sexual ability, simple bleeding or bruising, irregular or unusually fast heartbeat. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or physician.

Terazosin HCL Precautions: Before taking it drug, tell you're physician if you have liver or kidney disease. To avoid dizziness or fainting, get up slowly from lying or seated position; especially when you first start using this tablet or if your doctor changes some your dosing. Limit your intake of alcohol and avoid getting overheated because they may increase dizziness & drowsiness effects of it drug. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. this tablet should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Terazosin HCL med interactions: Inform youre pharmacist about all the medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription). Avoid any drugs that increase youre heart rate or make you excited like decongestants because it may counteract you're blood pressure medicine. Decongestants commonly found in over-the-counter cough and cold products. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.

Terazosin HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness and weakness.

If you missed Terazosin HCL dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost clock since the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up. Contact your healthcare professional if two or more consecutive doses missed.

Terazosin HCL Storage: Store at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) away from heat & moisture. Capsules stored at higher than recommended temperatures may soften or melt.
