Medi Tussin DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination tablet is used to treat a cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Medi Tussin DM: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. do not crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased.
Medi Tussin DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss about appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1-st several days as some your body adjusts to the tablet. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your pharmacist if you develop any of these effects while taking this drug: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this medication makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Medi Tussin DM Precautions: Tell youre doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. it pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with youre doctor. for small amounts about it medication found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Medi Tussin DM medication interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.
Medi Tussin DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.
Medi Tussin DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Medi Tussin DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time since the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Medi Tussin DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
