Fluphenazine Decanoate Usage: this medication is used for mental/emotional conditions.

How to use Fluphenazine Decanoate: this med is injected into muscle (IM) or under the skin (SQ). this med must be used as prescribed. do not stop using it tablet suddenly with-out consulting your doctor. some conditions may worsen if the medication is suddenly stopped. it may take up to two weeks for full benefit of it drug to take effect.

Fluphenazine Decanoate side effects: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though very unlikely to occur, notify your pharmacist immediately if you experience any of the following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erection. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Fluphenazine Decanoate Precautions: Tell your pharmacist youre medical history, especially of: very high or very LBP, liver or heart disease, Reye's syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, allergies (especially medication allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness such as driving or using machinery. Use of alcohol can cause extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol use. this medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear a sunscreen & protective clothing when you are exposed to sun. this pill can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat stroke. Avoid strenuous work or exercise at hot weather. this drug isn't intended for use at children under 12 years of age. this medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your pharmacist before using it medication. Certain drugs closely related to this one (phenothiazines) excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Fluphenazine Decanoate medication interactions: Inform your doctor about all medications you use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: other anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drugs, sparfloxacin, grepafloxacin, guanethidine, guanadrel, metrizamide, cabergoline, lithium, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine), drugs used to aid sleep, drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), other meds that make you drowsy. much cough-and-cold products contain ingredients that may add a drowsiness effect. Before using cough-and-cold medications, ask your doctor or healthcare professional about safe use of those products. don't start or stop any medicine with-out pharmacist or physician approval.

Fluphenazine Decanoate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include, restlessness, confusion, excitement, weakness, fatigue, fainting, dizziness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, small pupil size, tremors, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, excessive drowsiness, very low body temperature, or seizures.

Fluphenazine Decanoate special notes: It's important you be monitored. Keep every physician appointments. don't share this med with others.

If you missed Fluphenazine Decanoate dose: If you miss a dose and use 1 dose daily: use as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for next dose. in that case, skip missed dose & resume your usual schedule. If you use more than 1 dose daily: use as soon as possible if It's within an hour or so of missed dose. If not remembered within an hour, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

Fluphenazine Decanoate Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. don't freeze.
