Duratuss DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. this combination medication is used to treat cough associated with the common cold, allergies & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Duratuss DM: Take this drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. Capsules & long-acting pills must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed & the chance about side effects will be increased.

Duratuss DM side effects: Headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting may occur the 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your physician if you develop any of these effects while taking it medication: skin rash, trouble breathing. Use caution driving or operating machinery if this drug makes you feel dizzy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Duratuss DM Precautions: Tell your pharmacist you're medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), any allergies. this pill must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts about it medication found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Duratuss DM drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Duratuss DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, slowed breathing, & seizures.

Duratuss DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Duratuss DM dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Duratuss DM Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in bathroom.
