Decongestant/antihistamine/anticholinergic - oral

Respa R Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat & itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. it combination drug is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Respa R: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after meal or snack. Long-acting tablets & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or the long action may be destroyed & the chance of side effects increased.

Respa R side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose and eyes may occur first several days as you're body adjusts to med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

Respa R Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. money this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your pharmacist. since small amounts about this medication found in breast milk, consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

Respa R drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: drug for blood pressure, med since depression such as MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline). Tell youre physician if you take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.

Respa a R Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, fast breathing, fever, hot dry & flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

Respa R special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Respa a R dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if Its near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Respa R Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
