    Metipranolol - ophthalmic

    (met-eh-pran-oh-lol, off-thal-mick)

    Metipranolol Usage: it med is used to treat pressure within eye (glaucoma, intraocular hypertension).

    How to use Metipranolol: Use this tablet as directed. Try to use it at the same time each day to get into a routine of using this. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying these eye drops. You may put them back in, 15 minutes after applying drops. Apply eye drops to the affected eyes as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip; do not let tip touch your eye or any other surface; do not rinse dropper after use. Tilt youre head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number of drops. watch downward & gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner of eye near the nose & apply gentle pressure. this will prevent the medication from draining away from eye. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. don't stop using this medication with out 1-st consulting your healthcare professional. If you are using another kind about eye drop, wait in least five minutes before applying other medications.

    Metipranolol side effects: it drug may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when applied. other side effects reported include brow ache, tearing & sensitivity to light. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: skin rash, eye pain, swelling in or around eyes, vision problems, breathing trouble, slow or irregular heartbeat, headache, dizziness, depression. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Metipranolol Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: asthma, heart disease, lung disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, muscle disease, any allergies. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a period after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with some your doctor.

    Metipranolol drug interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: heart medication, blood pressure med, quinidine, verapamil. If you scheduled for any surgery, be sure your healthcare professional knows you are taking it medication. it may be necessary to stop using it for short time. don't start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

    Metipranolol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dizziness, headache, shortness of breath, slow heart rate, wheezing, and coughing.

    Metipranolol special notes: your intraocular (eye) pressure will be monitored to check effectiveness of this drug.

    If you missed Metipranolol dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Metipranolol Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Discard this if solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
