Leukine Usage: this medication stimulates the body to make white blood cells. It's used after bone marrow transplants. it has also been used to improve blood conditions due to certain types of anemia or drug therapy.

How to use Leukine: this med is administered by infusion into vein or by injection under skin. Blood counts will be done routinely to next info therapy.

Leukine side effects: Flushing & dizziness may occur with first dose. Headache, diarrhea, muscle aches, stomach upset may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify some your doctor if you experience: skin rash, swelling about the hands or feet, bladder trouble, weight gain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Leukine Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disorders, any allergies. this medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're pharmacist.

Leukine drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take especially of: previous chemotherapy or radiation therapy. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.

Leukine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual tiredness or weakness; fever, rash, irregular heartbeat, or chills.

If you missed Leukine dose: It's important that each dose be used as scheduled. If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if this is near time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Leukine Storage: Store this medication in the refrigerator as directed. Avoid freezing or shaking. check the expiration date on the label & properly discard of any unused drug after that time.
