Bromanate DM Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat & itchy, watery eyes. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Bromanate DM: Take it drug as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more much times than directed. Capsules & long-acting tablets must be swallowed whole with full glass of water. don't crush or chew them. long action will be destroyed and chance about side effects will be increased. the liquid suspension form of this med must be shaken well before using.
Bromanate DM side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur 1st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop any of next effects while using it medication: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Bromanate DM Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this medication are found at breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Bromanate DM tablet interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood pressure drug, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain drugs (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Bromanate DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, sweating, dizziness, headache, hyperactivity, bizarre behavior, seizures, slow or fast heartbeat, or unconsciousness.
Bromanate DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Bromanate DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take this if this is near the time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Bromanate DM Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
