Diclofenac Potassium Usage: this medication is nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication that relieves pain & reduces inflammation (swelling). it is used to treat headaches, muscle aches, dental pain, menstrual cramps and athletic injuries. It's commonly used to treat pain, swelling and stiffness associated with arthritis.
How to use Diclofenac Potassium: Take this drug with food, milk, or antacids to prevent stomach upset. this drug is most effective in relieving menstrual pain if taken at the earliest sign of pain. Take this medication with 6 to 8 ounces (180-240ml) of water. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it pill.
Diclofenac Potassium side effects: Stomach upset is most common side effect. Nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision or loss of appetite may also occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify you're healthcare professional. Inform youre doctor promptly if you develop: ringing at ears/ loss of hearing, vision changes. Use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as this may intensify drowsiness effect of this medication. this medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use about alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. check with your doctor or healthcare professional for more information. do not take aspirin with-out consulting your physician. bucks ingredients of any nonprescription pill you may be taking since many cough-and-cold formulas contain aspirin. Infrequently, this pill may increase skin's sensitivity to sunlight. If this happens to you, avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen. Avoid sunlamps. Caution is advised when this tablet is used in elderly. Tell you're doctor if you are pregnant before using this drug. Use of it med in last 6 months of pregnancy is not recommended. this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Diclofenac Potassium medication interactions: Tell your physician about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially about: 'blood thinners' such as warfarin, other arthritis drug, water pills, lithium. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Diclofenac Potassium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, dark stool, ringing in ears, change in amount of urine, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, muscle weakness, slow or shallow breathing, confusion, severe headache or loss of consciousness.
Diclofenac Potassium special notes: in arthritis, it may take up to two weeks before full effects of this medicine are noted. for best results, this medication must be taken regularly as directed by you're doctor.
If you missed Diclofenac Potassium dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
