Docu Usage: this medication helps fluids to mix with the stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. it is used to treat constipation.

How to use Docu: Swallow capsules & tablets whole with full glass of water or juice. liquid & syrup forms must be given in 6 to 8 ounces about milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after 1st dose.

Docu side effects: this medication can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid & syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration and loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or doctor.

Docu Precautions: do not take aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any another nonprescription medication) without obtaining your doctor's advice.

Docu pill interactions: this drug isnt recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your doctor or pharmacist since more details. Tell some your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription med you may use, especially aspirin.

Docu Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Docu special notes: Laxatives must only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet, & exercise regularly.

If you missed Docu dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
