Warning: rarely, this drug has caused severe (sometimes fatal) liver problems. Notify youre healthcare professional immediately if you develop dark urine, abdominal or stomach pain, yellowing about the skin or eyes, or unusual fatigue. Cisapride must not be used when using ketoconazole. Serious heart problems could result. You will be closely monitored while using this medication.

Nizoral Usage: it drug is used to treat wide variety of fungal infections.
How to use Nizoral: Take as directed by your pharmacist. Its usually given as a single daily dose. it may be taken with meal or snack to alleviate stomach upset. it may take from few days to several months to complete treatment. this depends upon type & location about infection. Take this drug at least two hours before taking any antacid or acid-reducing drugs. Continue to take this medication until full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a some days. Stopping the tablet too early may allow the infection to continue, resulting in return of the infection.
Nizoral side effects: You may experience diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, menstrual irregularities, impotence, increased sensitivity of eyes to light, breast tenderness or enlargement, or headache as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or get worse, contact you're pharmacist. Notify your physician if you experience: loss of appetite, dark urine, pale stools, yellowing of eyes or skin, soreness about mouth/tongue/throat, fatigue. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it medication, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact some your physician or physician.
Nizoral Precautions: Tell some your doctor your medical history especially: liver disease, history of alcohol use, digestion problems, any medication allergies. don't consume alcoholic beverages while taking this med. this drug should be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. Ketoconazole may be excreted into breast milk. manufacturer of this drug recommends you don't breast-feed while using this pill. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Nizoral drug interactions: it med shouldnot be used with following medications because very serious interactions may occur: atorvastatin, alprazolam, midazolam, triazolam, nevirapine. If you currently using any of these medications, tell youre doctor or pharmacist before starting ketoconazole. Tell your doctor of every prescription and nonprescription tablets you may use, especially: drugs used for ulcers or heartburn (e.g., cimetidine or omeprazole-like drugs), antacids, certain antihistamines (terfenadine, astemizole), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin), phenytoin, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin, rifabutin), certain calcium channel blockers (dihydropyridines such as nifedipine, felodipine), sildenafil, cisapride, certain anticholinergic drugs (e.g., propantheline), indinavir. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Nizoral Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Nizoral special notes: this drug is prescribed since your current condition only. don't use it for another infection or share this with others. other infection later on may require different medicine.
If you missed Nizoral dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered. If it is almost time for the following dose, take missed dose and the scheduled dose 12 hours apart, then resume your usual dosing schedule.
Nizoral Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. do not store in bathroom.
