    Neomycin/polymyxin/hydrocortisone - otic suspension

    (nee-oh-my-sin/paw-lee-mix-in/hi-dro-kor-tih-sown)

    common brand names: Cortisporin, Otimar, Otocort, Pediotic

    Pediotic Usage: it drug is used to treat certain infections of outer ear.

    How to use Pediotic: for best effects, this tablet must be used as directed. Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping this med too soon may not clear infection & could possibly result in reinfection. do not use this drug more often or continue to use it for longer than directed. Apply ear drops to affected ears as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch dropper tip or let this touch your ear. If pill has been refrigerated, hold the bottle at you're hand for some minutes to warm it. Shake container well for 10 seconds before using. Lie on your side or tilt affected ear up. Place dropper directly over ear & administer the prescribed number of drops. To help the drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up and back & in kid, hold earlobe down & back. Keep head tilted for about 2 minutes or insert soft cotton plug if directed to do so. don't rinse the dropper.

    Pediotic side effects: this medication may temporarily sting or burn your ear for minute or two when applied. If it continues or becomes bothersome, inform some your doctor. Notify your pharmacist immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/burning/redness/swelling/pain in or around the ears. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.

    Pediotic Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: other infections, allergies (especially to antibiotics or sulfites). this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre pharmacist. Although unlikely, absorption in to the body of the hydrocortisone in this product may occur during topical application. Therefore, consult with youre doctor before breast-feeding.

    Pediotic drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

    Pediotic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. it medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

    Pediotic special notes: If the condition for which it was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse after few days, consult youre physician.

    If you missed Pediotic dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Pediotic Storage: it may be stored in refrigerator or at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light.
