Afrin Usage: this medication promotes nasal drainage & relieves nasal stuffiness. It's used to relieve symptoms associated with a cold, hay fever, allergies, sinus infections & other related conditions. it is also used to relieve plugged ears.

How to use Afrin: this drug is used at nose as directed. To apply nasal spray, first blow your nose to help improve penetration of drug. Keeping your head upright, place nasal spray just inside nostril being careful not to touch the container to the inside of nose. Squeeze the container as you inhale deeply through your nose. Sniff hard few times to be sure medication reaches deep in to nose. do not use it more often than directed or increase your dose. Therapy usually lasts for 3 to three days. Excessive use about this drug can actually increase nasal congestion.

Afrin side effects: Stinging, burning, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, drying of nostrils, & altered taste may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform youre physician. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: a rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, trouble sleeping, shaking of hands, tremors, unusual weakness. it medication may cause dizziness. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're physician or healthcare professional.

Afrin Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: heart problems, thyroid disease, diabetes, HBP, seizure disorder, glaucoma, allergies (especially to sulfites). the elderly & children may be more susceptible to the effects of it med. Use this with caution. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. for small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult youre doctor before breast-feeding.

Afrin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take especially about: high blood pressure tablets, antidepressants, cough-and-cold or allergy medications. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.

Afrin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, unconsciousness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or unusually fast heartbeat.

Afrin special notes: there are various nasal decongestants available, many without a prescription. Discuss with youre pharmacist or pharmacist the best product for you.

If you missed Afrin dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time since following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Afrin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at the bathroom. don't share the container with anyone else. Throw away the container when the drug is no longer required.
