Delsym Usage: Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant used to relieve dry, hacking cough.

How to use Delsym: Take this med by mouth as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take this more often then directed.

Delsym side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, or stomach ache may occur 1-st several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, nervousness, confusion. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Delsym Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional if you have: lung problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema), allergies (especially drug allergies). this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this medication are found in breast milk, consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Delsym drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you use, especially of: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or doctor approval.

Delsym Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Delsym special notes: If the cough worsens, last for longer than one week or is accompanied by a high fever, notify your physician.

If you missed Delsym dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Delsym Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
