Trituss Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination pill is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Trituss: it drug is best taken with full glass about water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed and chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more much of times than directed.
Trituss side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform youre doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Trituss Precautions: Tell youre physician some your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult you're doctor promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre healthcare professional. this pill may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Trituss pill interactions: Tell your healthcare professional about all prescription & nonprescription medications you use, especially: drug for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this pill. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.
Trituss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Trituss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Trituss dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Trituss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
