Hydromorphone HCL Usage: it medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

Hydromorphone HCL side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea or flushing. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your healthcare professional. Notify you're doctor if you develop: irregular heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, seizures. at unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Hydromorphone HCL Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: liver disease, lung disease, asthma, colitis or another stomach problems, severe diarrhea, history of pill dependency, drug allergies. Use caution when engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol consumption because it may add to the dizziness/drowsiness effects of this drug. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the med. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. this drug may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Hydromorphone HCL drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take including: sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, other narcotic pain relievers, drugs for depression, phenothiazines, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Hydromorphone HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include shallow and slow breathing, very slow heartbeat, fainting, seizures, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Hydromorphone HCL special notes: To prevent constipation, increase your intake of fiber, drink plenty about water & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. do not share this medication with others. it is against the law.
If you missed Hydromorphone HCL dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if Its almost time for the next dose. Instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Hydromorphone HCL Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Keep out about reach about children.
