Ortho Diaphragm Usage: this barrier device is used to prevent pregnancy.

How to use Ortho Diaphragm: To be most effective, diaphragm is used with a spermicide contraceptive as directed. Practice inserting & removing the diaphragm in doctor's office to learn proper placement. Prior to sexual intercourse, place proper amount about spermicide into diaphragm & spread some around the outer ring. Insert the diaphragm into the vagina to cover cervix. diaphragm & spermicide should remain in place for 6-8 hours after the last act about intercourse (time is dependent upon the product info for spermicide). diaphragm should be removed as soon as possible after this time period. the diaphragm shouldnot be worn continuously for more than 24 hours. If additional spermicide is required while diaphragm is worn, diaphragm shouldnot be removed to apply spermicide. Wash diaphragm using warm, soapy water. Dry it and hold this to the light to money for any holes or tears. Place diaphragm in the case for proper storage. diaphragm must be refitted after childbirth and should be checked at every annual pelvic exam.

Ortho Diaphragm side effects: theyre are no side effects associated with proper use of diaphragm. Spermicides may cause irritation or burning. If this occurs, contact your pharmacist.

Ortho Diaphragm Precautions: Avoid use about petroleum jelly with diaphragm. Petroleum can weaken latex causing tears & leaks.

Ortho Diaphragm medication interactions: Tell your doctor of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Ortho Diaphragm Overdose: Not applicable.

Ortho Diaphragm special notes: Diaphragms, when used as directed with spermicidal cream or gel, are 80 to 98% effective in preventing pregnancy. Refer to instructions provided for proper use about spermicide.

Ortho Diaphragm Storage: Store the diaphragm in case provided away from heat.
