Zyban Usage: it medication is used to help you quit smoking.

How to use Zyban: Swallow this medication whole. do not crush or chew them or sustained activity of med will be destroyed and the chances of side effects occurring may be increased. Take as directed, usually two times daily for 7 to 12 weeks. do not take more or less tablet than prescribed. since this med may cause sleeplessness in first, It's best not to take near bedtime. Taking more than recommended dose of bupropion will increase your risk of having seizure. this is advised to continue smoking for first week after starting this med, until it reaches higher levels in your blood. do not smoke if using any nicotine products with this pill. Too many nicotine can cause serious side effects. do not stop taking this tablet with-out notifying your pharmacist.

Zyban side effects: this medication is generally well tolerated. Dry mouth, headache, increased sweating, nausea/vomiting, constipation, anxiety, fatigue and blurred vision may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your pharmacist. Report promptly: unusual weight loss or gain, palpitations, agitation, trouble sleeping. Unlikely but report promptly: tremor, dizziness, fainting, mood changes, slowed movements, difficulty urinating, decreased sex drive, drowsiness. Very unlikely but report promptly: seizures, mental problems, fever, muscle aches, yellowing of eyes or skin. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms may include trouble breathing, rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or doctor.

Zyban Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: seizures, head injury, brain tumor, heart disease, liver problems, kidney problems, eating disorder, any mental conditions, diabetes, alcohol dependence, any allergies. Because of possibility this drug will make you dizzy & affect coordination, don't drive or operate machinery until you get used to drug's effects. Limit or avoid consumption of alcoholic beverages; alcohol can increase your risk of seizures. Chronic alcohol users who suddenly stop the intake about alcohol while taking bupropion may increase risk of having seizures. Suddenly stopping certain tranquilizers (e.g., diazepam, chlordiazepoxide) is not recommended because doing so may increase the risk about having seizures. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication. Tell your healthcare professional if you pregnant or plan to become pregnant before taking this tablet. it medication passes into breast milk. Because of potential risk to infant, breast-feeding while using this drug isnot recommended. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.

Zyban drug interactions: Before taking bupropion tell your physician of every nonprescription and prescription meds you may use especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, pargyline, selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone), levodopa, ritonavir, warfarin, adrenaline-like stimulants (e.g., ephedrine), goods containing nicotine (e.g., patches or gum). Also report the use about meds which might increase seizure risk (decrease seizure threshold) when combined with bupropion such as phenothiazines (e.g., thioridazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), isoniazid (INH), or theophylline among others. Consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist for details. Excess caffeine intake can increase chance of seizures with it tablet. check every nonprescription/prescription drug labels for caffeine. Consult you're physician or physician. Certain goods used to treat depression contain bupropion. do not take other bupropion-containing goods while using it one. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Zyban Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include blurred vision, lightheadedness, confusion, nausea, and seizures.

Zyban special notes: do not allow anyone else to take it drug.

If you missed Zyban dose: Take any missed dose as soon as possible but not if this is within 8 hours of next dose. If it is clock for the following dose, skip the missed dose & resume your regular schedule. do not 'double-up' dose.

Zyban Storage: Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.

		Male, Age : 60 and up years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Experienced lack of sleep, waking all hour, quit after two weeks,started the treatment at November 2004, in March 2005 noticed hair loss, by April holes appeared all over scalp - Dr diagnosed Alopecia - no cure & not known why it occured! within 3 months I lost every dark hairs on my head and only very fine white hairs remained, I am 65yrs old & did have greying temples, however, my hair has changed It's texture from a thick dark brown colour to snowy white & is very thin and fine in texture. I have not beeen stressed and can find no other reason than that Zyban caused this dramatic effect.Would be very interested if anyone out they're has experienced the same problem. cliff.freeman@btconnect.com Review : it may work for some but it did not work since me, I am snowy white haired male now & my friends do not recognise me!

		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : Quit Smoking. Side Effects : Dry mouth, little/no need to smoke, mild but regular headaches, insomnia, aggression & irritability. .. Review : Am on 12th day...haven't smoked since 6th. Also haven't slept more than 2-3 hours per night in a week. Have argued with everyone in my life. ..pissed off parents, might have lost my girlfriend, would have probably lost my job if I didn't work for myself. Am starting to get feelings that life is pointless & feeling mildly suicidal...so am gonna quit it now. Hope these feelings go away soon?! ?! don't think I'll smoke again. .. but don't think I'll take these ether unless I'm locked up & under supervision! !! Turning me into psycho!

Side Effects : most severe headaches I've ever had - this was as if the top my skull was being sawed off. the headaches started of 3 weeks after I started taking it & led to me to stop taking it. Suicidal thoughts & MORE severe depression. this did kinda help me quit smoking though - partially. I mean, it took the cravings away definitely, but I still smoke just much less now (and Its probably just because of the habitual aspect of this, not because I feel like I NEED cigarette).

Side Effects : Feeling spaced out,headaches,insomnia, constipation Had to stop taking it initially after 4 days, then gave it another go few days later but just stayed on 1 tablet (150mg) daily and read Allen Carr's book which in combination really helped Review : this is my second time taking zyban, I initally stopped smoking since 2 months on 150 mg per day but unfortunately didn't get repeat prescription, went on holiday & what with socialising, drinking, urge to smoke came back, I have just started to take Zyban again, feeling few side effects, but will only take 1 tablet a day & read allen carr's book, that worked for me: this medicine isn't for everyone as side effects are a pain, but by taking 1 tablet day side effects greatly minimised.

		Female, Age : 20-30 years old , Reason : DONT TAKE ZYBAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Side Effects : I didn't experience side effects but I witnessed the over-powering med first hand. My sister was on it. She never had too much troubles sleeping until she started taking Zyban. She wasnt suicidal person but Zyban made her feel crazy, with extremely low lows and rarely even an inbetween or high. She was irritable, grumpy, mopey, became drug induced bi-polar. I wanted to write this on her behalf as effects of Zyban & NOT niccotine withdrawl made her take her own life. She said everyday that she wasnt able to function like she used to since having taken Zyban. She went from super happy & positive to deep, dark & so depressed she couldnt cope anymore. the doctor that prescribed this HORRIBLE HORRIBLE drug said that they're were small amount to no side effects. After she started taking Zyban she looked up side effects online as she was starting to feel different. Almost all the posts we saw online were negative towards this drug. DEPRESSION and SUICIDE were amongst list of side Review : PLEASE do not take it med. this may seem too super to be true and that is the correct assumption. I am not going to stop until this medication is REMOVED FROM MARKET in all countries. I dont wanna look anyone else go through what me & my family are going through. My sister was an incredible person. She will be greatly missed. I have to resay this so you remember. .. she NEVER had depression like it, nor any suicidal thoughts EVER.

Side Effects : this is 3rd time I've taken Zyban. since reasons that are beyond me I stopped smoking for 3 months & started again. this clock theyre won't be thing on this earth that will make me start smoking again...as I cannot take Zyban any more. foul breath, bad taste in my mouth, massive mood swings and during this last prescription such massive depression that I've had suicidal thoughts. it is not me at all. I've stopped taking Zyban. Luckily I've also stopped smoking. this pill is not for everyone...but it was the ONLY way I've managed to stop smoking.

Side Effects : it felt like zyban may have decreased my appetite, but that isn't saying much of because I still ate lot. another than that I felt nothing from this. Review : I started taking one pill a day since first 3 days and on the fourth day I started taking one pill in morning & one tablet 8 hours later. I have been on Zyban now for 8 days and I feel love having cigarette like I always do. this tablet has not helped me at all. I feel totally normal & I am thankful I did not get those bad side effects, but I would have taken several minor ones for Zyban to help me, but no such luck. this wasn't for me, but it may be for someone else. Cold Turkey here I come!

		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : MIRACLE. Side Effects : it is love world has a large volume knob and med turns it down little. My sense of time is totally out of whack. Not as aggressive, things that would normally bother me just slide by. Insomnia, jitters, decreased appetite, slight joint pain & minor headaches but I have heard most side effects decrease with time. Incredible dreams. Review : Smoked for 20 years & thought I would die a smoker. I have had four cigs in 5 days, last one was 48 hours ago. the longest I had gone before was 3 hours. Zyban has saved my life. the first day of quitting was rough but after that desire has been like nagging thought instead about burning hunger.

Side Effects : Constipation, gas, quirky dreams, affected sleep, more energy Review : I wasn't too sure how it pill could work, & on the 4th day when I was to start taking two pills day, I found this site....not very positive site I might add, however I went ahead & took second med... the wanting of a cigarett has dropped considerably, right now I smoke rarely because I think 'hey, I'm in my car, I should smoke' & let it mostly burn down. extra energy is great, constipation being the worse of side effects, but nothing very small amount bran & metamucile won't fix. 		Female, Age : 20-30 years old , Reason : Quit Smoking. Side Effects : I have been taking zyban for the last 3 weeks stopped smoking on day 8 was very impressed that my cravings were not too bad. Sleeping was nightmare woke up all morning at 3am wide awake took hours to get back to sleep, I got very nervous if I was going anywhere like to get my hair done or someone else was driving & im not normally like that if I had not of been taking medication I would about been worried of myself! ! then on 10th day of not smoking I had an itcy arm in morning then by 5pm I was covered in an itchy sore rash from head to toe I have not normally got sensitive skin. I rang the pharmacist he told me to stop taking pill immediatly. Review : So today is my 1-st day without zyban just patches but feel confident enough that I am over the worst part hopefully, I hope so much that I can do it I feel so many healthier and smell of other people smoking really annoys me. Not sure if doc will let me take them again but fingers crossed I stay smoke free.

Here's a list, but remember, when you smoke cigarettes, you get symptoms. decrease appetite, decrease sensitivity of your taste buds, lightheadedness, Coughing, nausea, yellow teeth & fingers. Zyban side effects> dry mouth, very slight dizziness, decreased appetite. all decreased after one week. good luck! Remember NOT to drink any ALCOHOL when taking Zyban or Wellbutrin. for real works folks!! Review : and the most scary is CANCER! Believe me! I work in hospital and I watch so much of die from it or need portable oxygen where ever they go. Zyban is an amazing medication!! I quit smoking on the 10 day. this is been 3 weeks since I had a cigarette & I do not miss it at all! I mean that! I'm so happy! After every, It's an antidepressant. Zyban for me, started to work on the 7 day. the taste of the cigarette was like smoking most stale cigarette I ever tasted! at an hour I tried another Newport & it was more stale then previous one. I stated rating cigarettes on a rating scale > 0-10. 10 being the majority of the enjoyment from cigarette or 0 enjoying this least. I guarantee you'll rate cigs less & less. 		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Urticaria, Pruritis, Flushing, Vasculitis Review : Took zyban since 6 days (1+1+1+2+2+2) and discontinued on 7th. Had drug rash on 6th day itself but continued on 6th by taking two 150mg. By 7th it was evident that I had huge problem on my hand. Skin was itching every over & became red. Quit on 7th evening and has been off for 8 days now. Zyban helped with withdrawal for about 4-5 days after I quit zyban & nicotine. it definetely works by keeping the dopamine from being taken up. However, my immune system which is extremely tolerant to med popping was not so kind with zyban. it brought out the large guns & started shooting up my body. Had blood vessels shot (vasculitis) and was put on stiff dose of 50mg prednisone for 7 days. Keep in mind that prednisone isnt to be taken lightly. this is another dangerous drug which not used well can hurt you in long run. But thank god for Prednisone meds & cortisone cream without which my life would have been hell on earth for week. every in every I'll give thumbs up to zyban for working o

		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : I feel like I am wired & tired at the same time. Just started my two tablets day couple of days ago, and haven't slept more then 3 or four hours a night. I am very moody, with anger (especially in drivers) on top of mood list. I am very forgetful, & find myself having migraine type headaches. Review : it may sound odd, and I'd appreciate some feedback from anyone. I seem to have an increased desire to smoke, I do not know if it is the light headedness, or the fact that time seems to not move. Has it, or is this happening to anyone else?

		Male, Age : 40-50 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Light headedness, tightening about chest, heart palpitations, fear of having stroke or heart attack. Also anxiety, sadness and fear. it all happened in the short span of 5 days. Now I have to be perfectly clear I didn't follow the prescribed method of recomended dose. since I had been on this medication before, I thought it was pretty safe and tame & without any real side effects. So I immediately started taking 2 pills / day. it was extremely stupid and reckless and I strongly believe that the symptoms I experienced this time was a direct result of that. Review : I have been taking Zyban off and on for the last year. I quit smoking 1 year ago with aid of Zyban. it worked as promised. I would discontinue use about the drug but if at anytime I felt an overwhelming urge to smoke, I would get right back on it but always under supervision of my doctor. I began smoking about 3 weeks ago. I began taking Zyban again but immediately started with 2 pills per day. My experiences of the drug in the past were mild. this time is was very awful & I now see how powerful this drug is. I think this drug can help few quit smoking as it did help me but if abused or if you are not right fit for drug, it can be very dangerous.

		Male, Age : 20-30 years old , Reason : Give up smoking for good. Side Effects : After taking this medication three days I could def. feel the zyban in my blood, made my mind go loopy, ups and downs everyday. Hives showed up sunday morn at 5a.m. (11 days after starting zyban) got progressivly worse every day long & then on sunday night I could hardly walk at all, hives just covered me, joints ached. Had to go the ER and get pumped full of steroids to ease the hives, total quit smoking cost over $2000 + 1 Crazy Mind Trip, & worth every bit of it to Me! Review : I only took it for 1.5 weeks, & had to quit obviously because of insane hives I got, but in time I took Zyban I had it shift about consciousness & realized that this was not so much the cigarettes that I craved it was feeling I got after I smoked cigs that I needed. After I realized this I began finding things to recreate that feeling, relaxation technqs. riding mountainbike, etc. & it then it wasn't that difficult to quit. Now I've been a nonsmoker for two mths. after smoking 12 years & I do not see back.

		Female, Age : 50-60 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Now that I am on 2 tabs a day I find I wake at about 3.am. and stare at the ceiling since few hours. However, I feel this is small price to pay for quitting smoking. I feel that as soon as I quit Zyban my sleep pattern will return to normal Review : I have smoked for 35 years. Loved every ciggie I had..but it was clock to quit. I feel a lot better. skin tone has improved & I dont smell of nicotine. 		Male, Age : 40-50 years old , Reason : Quit Smoking. Side Effects : some insomnia. Tension at my neck & shoulders. Mainly negative psychological symptoms: depression, anxiety, paranoid obsessiveness, even thoughts of suicide. Review : this did help me quit (so far) by taking the edge of the urges, or rather, by not allowing urge to overwhelm my mind. I am sticking with it even with side effects because I really want to stop smoking for good. I am looking forward to going off it & I really hope the psycho symptoms go away in same time.

		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Dizzyness, kind about like spins when you're drunk except you do not feel sick & are clear headed. It's not unpleasant, just strange feeling. it seems to have gone away now, no dizzyness for 2 days (day 14 on Zyban) No other side effects, I sleep just fine & have been in a super mood. Review : It's rather amazing how many easier it is to not smoke compared to other attempts. Today is day 6 of not smoking. every these negative comments scary, but I have feeling that if you have history of depression, on another medications etc, you may have few problems. If you have clear head it may be worth it.

Side Effects : I was ok when I was only taking one table for first 10 days but when I started taking 2 day I suffered from lack of co-ordination, lack of concentration, constipation,an'out-of-it' feeling at my head to extent I didn't feel it was safe to drive. I went back to taking only 1 tablet a day but by finish of 2 weeks I had 'stinging nettle' feelings on soles of my feet & palms of my hands & the physician told me to discontinue with drug straight away. Review : I wish that I had not had side effects from Zyban because this really is great as far as stopping craving for nicotine. I still am not smoking (3 weeks later) but have lot more cravings than on Zyban. I would recommend this drug if you don't get the side effects!

After 1st week I felt anxious all time and one night anxiety got so bad I was freaking out and I am normally very calm rational person. following day though I woke up and didn't want cigarette so I stopped taking this.

Review : Having read a lot of the comments, I wonder how many person were using nicotine replacement therapy as well? some of the symptoms that human attributing to Zyban are actually symptoms of nicotine withdrawal (tiredness, lightheadedness, etc). You also have to remember that your body is cleansing itself. Skin problems are common to quitting smoking (e.g., oily skin,acne, etc.) These symptoms will disappear in time.

Review : I took this to quit smoking without knowing that I could feel like I was going crazy. at the time, there were no warnings on fact sheet about suicidal thoughts etc. I may never have taken it if I'd known of every side effects. I would not reccomend the use about this drug to quit smoking. this is an anti depressant also known as Wellbutrin. it made me psychotic in a matter of days. Boo Hiss.

Side Effects : few insomnia, mild Dizzieness, few mild Bladder weakness in 3-4 week, . ........Dont know if this was side affect or my body screaming for nicotine, but developed 'irritable bowl syndrome' while quiting, & have had it ever since. Review : Zyban is greatest! Was a 30-35+ cigarette day man! Had tried everything, Patches, Nicorette even hypnosis! Tried quitting on day 8 and only lasted 6 hours, so though hes another con, but kept taking the tablets & stopped again on day 14 & bugger me no withdrawal at every, just felt abit fuzzy love having a head cold for a couple weeks. Havent had cigarette for almost three years now!!! Watched my Dad die of lung cancer at age 59, Docs said apart from his cancer, every other part of him was in great shape if he hadnt smoked he would still be round. Give it good nudge people!!! Rather suffer mild side affects & windy guts, to kick those killer cigarettes for excellent.

		Male, Age : 20-30 years old , Reason : Quit Smoking. Side Effects : Minimal side effects, slight chest tightness for 3-10 seconds all some days but nothing that caused me to worry. Review : No problems sleeping at all. Never had an overly dry mouth (try a glass of water if you do ), no rashes or hives. I didn't have one dark or paranoid thought - I must be a stable kind of bloke. & keep at mind SMOKING DESTROYS your LUNGS!! I would recommend these to ANYONE. Nearly year now without ciggy I can breath easily, take episode in sports 2-3 times week, & do not cough up my lungs every morning. Get few of these pills, feel healty and enjoy your life.

		Male, Age : 30-40 years old , Reason : Nicotine Addiction!. Side Effects : From day 8 through to of day 12, I experienced some minor headaches and very fitful sleeping patterns. I was not able to sleep until after midnight and was waking every 2 hrs. However, this did subside when I started taking my second tablet in about 1:30pm instead of about 5:30pm. I have had some tremors from time to clock & several joint soreness but all relatively minor. Review : I think you still need to want to quit. the drug won't do it every for you. I designated stop day (about day 9 I think) & stuck to it. By then cigs had started to taste reall bad & I was less inclined to smoke anyway as I wasn't enjoying them as much. I'm still feeling the cravings, but Zyban is definetly helping reduce their intensity. the big test was last w/end. Out in bar until very late & managed to make it through night with-out smoking. But it still requires individual self control. it won't remove cravings completley, & you have to commit to program. good luck!

		Male, Age : 0-9 years old , Reason : Stop Smoking. Side Effects : Took if a year ago for two months, quit very easily with no withdrawls. Quit since 6 months but had a girlfriend that smoked all time, so slowly I got back into it. Started to take it again now with hopes of not starting again. it is the easiest way to quit if your body reacts to pills well. If you usually get side effects from other pills, try to stay away. I'm on day 5 now, feeling small amount weird, but well worth quitting smoking.: )

Side Effects : Depression, anxiety, moodswings, paranoia, insomnia, feeling useless, spaced out, & skin on my face very irritable Review : Its only my 8th day on zyban, but i'm really considering coming off it after all I read here tonite, what scares me most is that these terrible feelings that I have now can stay with you even after quitting zyban, i'm doing for real well as in quitting smoking, but not so well mentally, & my face is a dissaster, my skin is grossly oily & have touch of rosacea on my cheek, which i'v never had before, think i'll go to my doc tomorrow to discuss it with him in detail, feel angered that I wasnt warned of any of these possible effects in advance.

Yesterday was the 1st day I took 2 pills & every night I thought I was going to have heart attack, I had chest pains & my heart rate was very high. Today I am having small amount discomfort in my chest. I have not experienced any of other mentioned side affects yet... Maybe I will stop taking Zyban. Review : I hope that this medication does not lead to a visit to the hospital. I almost wendt last night. and do not take anything to help you sleep as it may cause damage to yoou. After 6 Years of beeing on Zyban I thougt that I can cut down,which was a very bad mistake. I really took it slow & cut down very gradually but suddenly every night I startet to get something love electrically shocks troug my body. Review : I have taken anti-depressants for 4 years- celexa, effexor, paxil. I do not recomment this for depression. Paxil worked good since me for depression. Zyban has greatly reduced urge to smoke, but has had no anti-depressant effects. If anything, Zyban has made me feel more depressed and anxious. HOwever, I am keeping in mind this is only matter of time. I do not have to take this forever, & side effects outway the toxicity of smoking.
