Hep Lock U P Usage: this drug is an anticoagulant which prevents blood from clotting. it is used to prevent & treat venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and other conditions of blood clotting.
How to use Hep Lock U P: this medication is administered by a health care professional either as an injection or infused slowly into a vein over period time. Blood tests will be done routinely to determine the appropriate dose.
Hep Lock U P side effects: this drug may cause irritation, pain, redness or swelling at injection site. If these symptoms continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify youre physician if you develop signs about a possibly allergy: chills, fever, itchy skin, rash. Bleeding must be monitored for it may indicate dose is too high. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience any of the following while using this medication: easy bruising, nose bleed, dark & tarry stools, blood in urine, bleeding episode. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.
Hep Lock U P Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: blood disorders, bleeding episodes, heart disease, ulcers, liver disease, kidney disease, any allergies. preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or in liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during first months of life (neonatal period). the risk is greater with lower birth weight infants & is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, LBP, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, a preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. Elderly persons may be more sensitive to effects of this drug. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it isn't known if this medication appears at breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Hep Lock U P drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you take, especially of: blood thinners, aspirin, nitroglycerin, injectable antibiotics. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Hep Lock U P Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unexplained bleeding and bruising, stomach pain or swelling, back pain, blood in urine, vomiting blood, dizziness, and headache.
Hep Lock U P special notes: this medication is usually administered initially in hospital where youre condition canbe monitored closely. Laboratory tests will be done periodically to be sure medication is working properly & to monitor for possible side effects.
If you missed Hep Lock U P dose: Its important to use each dose at scheduled time. If you miss dose, contact you're pharmacist who will help establish a new dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Hep Lock U P Storage: Store this med as directed. Properly discard about any unused pill after expiration date.
