Durahist Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat and itchy, watery eyes. Anticholinergics have drying effect on mucous secretions. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Durahist: Take this pill as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase youre dose or take this more often than directed. it medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack. Long-acting meds & capsules should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them or the long action may be destroyed and chance of side effects increased.

Durahist side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, blurred vision, constipation or dry mouth, nose & eyes may occur first few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your physician. Notify you're physician if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or pharmacist.

Durahist Precautions: Tell some your physician if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, any allergies. dollars this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Tell your doctor if you take medications that cause drowsiness such as: medicine for sleep, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety medications (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines or tricyclics), anti- seizure meds (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants. Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this med. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Durahist Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, headache, weakness, disorientation, hyperactivity, restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, fast breathing, fever, hot dry and flushed skin, seizures, or coma.

Durahist special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this pill. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.

If you missed Durahist dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Durahist Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
