Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Coldmist DM Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Coldmist DM: this medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting pills & capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed & chance about side effects will be increased. Take it tablet as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Coldmist DM side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Coldmist DM Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any medication allergies. dollars it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if this contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. it med may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Coldmist DM drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription and nonprescription drugs you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Coldmist DM Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Coldmist DM special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking it pill. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Coldmist DM dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Coldmist DM Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at bathroom.
