Scot Tussin Usage: Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant used to relieve a dry, hacking cough.
How to use Scot Tussin: Take this tablet by mouth as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed.
Scot Tussin side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, or stomach ache may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to medication. If any about these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, nervousness, confusion. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.
Scot Tussin Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: lung problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema), allergies (especially medication allergies). this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this tablet are found in breast milk, consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Scot Tussin medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you use, especially of: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or physician approval.
Scot Tussin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Scot Tussin special notes: If cough worsens, last for longer than one week or is accompanied by high fever, notify some your doctor.
If you missed Scot Tussin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Scot Tussin Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
