Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Pediatric Formula Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses a cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination medication is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis and another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Pediatric Formula: it tablet is best taken with a full glass of water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting meds & capsules whole. don't crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more much times then directed.
Pediatric Formula side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Pediatric Formula Precautions: Tell youre physician your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain this product has PPA. this drug must be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it medication may be excreted into breast milk. Consult youre physician before breast-feeding.
Pediatric Formula drug interactions: Tell youre physician about all prescription & nonprescription meds you use, especially: medication for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking it pill. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or pharmacist approval.
Pediatric Formula Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss about coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Pediatric Formula special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this med. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Pediatric Formula dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Pediatric Formula Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
