Bisacodyl - oral

Modane Usage: this med is used to treat constipation or to clean out the intestinal tract before bowel examinations or bowel surgery.

How to use Modane: Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water or juice. do not crush or chew the pills. pills should work within six to 10 hours. do not take the tablets within one hour of taking any milk or dairy products. Severe stomach cramps & vomiting may occur. Bisacodyl should not be used longer than seven days with out consulting youre physician. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. Because this tablet must be swallowed whole, don't give it to kid less than 6 years of age.

Modane side effects: this pill may cause stomach ache, cramping, weakness, sweating, irritation of rectal area, diarrhea, or dizziness. Notify you're healthcare professional if you experience: chest pain, fainting, rectal bleeding, lack of a bowel movement (especially after using it medicine). If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or physician.

Modane Precautions: If you have any about the following conditions, do not take bisacodyl with-out consulting your doctor: severe nausea, vomiting, stomach/intestinal problems, recent abdominal surgery, rectal bleeding, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, appendicitis, gastritis, an allergic reaction to this medication. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration & loss of essential nutrients. Symptoms can include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain adequate fluid intake while using this drug. Before using bisacodyl, tell you're healthcare professional if you are pregnant. Its not known if bisacodyl is excreted in to breast milk. Consult you're healthcare professional.

Modane drug interactions: Tell your doctor about every prescription & nonprescription pills you may use, especially of: potassium supplements, antacids, acid blockers (e.g., cimetidine, famotidine, ranitidine), other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.

Modane Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include persistent diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, muscle cramps, severe weakness, extreme thirst, or dry mouth.

Modane special notes: To help prevent constipation, drink 4 to six glasses of water daily, eat dietary fiber and/or leafy substances & exercise regularly.

If you missed Modane dose: If you miss dose, skip the missed dose. do not double the dose.

Modane Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store at bathroom.
