Suppository Usage: this medication is used to treat constipation.
How to use Suppository: Unwrap suppository & moisten with lukewarm water. Lie down on youre left side with the right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with the left knee bent). Push the suppository into rectum with you're finger. don't use more of this medication than directed on package label or by youre doctor. do not use since longer than 1 week unless directed by youre healthcare professional. Consult you're physician or healthcare professional. Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence.
Suppository side effects: Skin irritation or burning around the rectum may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify some your physician. Very unlikely but report promptly: blood in stools, persistent urge to empty bowel, persistent diarrhea. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Suppository Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it is not known if glycerin is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Suppository drug interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional of every nonprescription & prescription medication you may use, especially of: other laxatives. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Suppository Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or someone you know may have taken it medicine by mouth, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Suppository special notes: do not share this drug with others. To prevent constipation drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet and exercise regularly.
If you missed Suppository dose: Generally, it med is only used 'as needed'. Consult your pharmacist for more information.
Suppository Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light & moisture.
