    Magnesium salicylate - phenyltoloxamine - oral

    (mag-nee-zee-um sal-iss-uh-late w/fen-ull-toll-ox-uh-meen)

    common brand names: Magsal, Mobigesic

    Warning: kid & teenagers should not use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related drugs for flu symptoms or chickenpox with out 1st consulting pharmacist. a rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.

    Mobigesic Usage: this medication is combination of an anti-inflammatory agent and an antihistamine used to relieve pain and swelling (inflammation) of arthritis.

    How to use Mobigesic: Take this medication by mouth, generally 3 to 4 times daily with food or full glass of milk (8oz. or 240 ml) as directed by your physician. the dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.

    Mobigesic side effects: Heartburn, nausea, vomiting, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, nervousness & dry mouth may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use a saliva substitute. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: stomach pain, black stools, vomiting about material that looks like coffee grounds, ringing in the ears, hearing loss, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, blurred vision, change at amount of urine. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other side effects not listed above, contact some your doctor or pharmacist.

    Mobigesic Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional some your medical history, especially of: kidney or liver problems, heart disease, bleeding disorders, stomach/intestinal ulcers, high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma (narrow angle), asthma, allergies (especially to aspirin or NSAID such as ibuprofen). this med may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. it medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol & this medicine may increase some your risk for stomach bleeding. Inform some your dentist or doctor that you are using it pill, especially before surgery. Caution is advised when prescribing or using this drug at elderly since they may be more sensitive to effects of drug. it medicine contains a drug similar to aspirin. children & teenagers shouldn't take this pill if they have chickenpox, influenza or any undiagnosed illness with-out first consulting a healthcare professional of Reye's syndrome, rare but serious illness. this med should be used only when clearly needed during 1'st six months of pregnancy; it is not recommended since use during the last three months of pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician before using this drug. this tablet passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Mobigesic med interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription tablets you may use, especially about: probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, phenylbutazone, 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparin), aspirin and other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen), acetazolamide, diabetes drugs (e.g., sulfonylureas such as chlorpropamide, tolbutamide), methotrexate. Also report use of medications that cause drowsiness such as: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety meds, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines, anti-seizure drugs (e.g. phenytoin), muscle relaxants, antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). check the labels on every your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products or pain relievers/fever reducers) because they may contain drowsiness-causing ingredients, or aspirin-like NSAIDs. Ask youre pharmacist about safe use of those products. this drug may interfere with certain laboratory tests, including certain urine sugar tests for diabetics (such as Clinistix, Tes-Tape or Clinitest). Inform laboratory personnel that you are taking this drug. Ask your physician for more details. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Mobigesic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, fast or deep breathing, ringing at ears, abnormal behavior, exhaustion, & loss of consciousness.

    Mobigesic special notes: do not share it tablet with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g. liver function tests) may be performed to monitor your progress.

    If you missed Mobigesic dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near time about next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Mobigesic Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture.
