Pediatric Decongestant Usage: Pseudoephedrine is used to provide relief from nasal or sinus congestion caused by allergies or common cold, or ear congestion caused by inflammation or infection.
How to use Pediatric Decongestant: this is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking it medication, unless some your pharmacist instructs you to do otherwise. Sustained-release or long acting pills and capsules must be swallowed whole. Chewing or crushing them will destroy the long action & may increase side effects. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or accompanied by a high fever, notify youre doctor. do not increase the dose or take this more frequently than recommended.
Pediatric Decongestant side effects: may cause dizziness, headache, quick or pounding heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, difficult or painful urination, sweating, nervousness, restlessness, or trouble sleeping. These effects should subside as you're body adjusts to med. If they persist, become severe or bothersome, inform you're doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or healthcare professional.
Pediatric Decongestant Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist if you have: pre-existing heart problems, kidney or liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, hypertension, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. Pseudoephedrine passes into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Using this med while breast-feeding isn't recommended.
Pediatric Decongestant drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication since depression, high blood pressure drugs. Tell some your doctor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within last two weeks. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Pediatric Decongestant Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include irregular or unusually slow or rapid heartbeat, unusual nervousness or excitement, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, & seizures.
Pediatric Decongestant special notes: talk with your healthcare professional, pharmacist or nurse about diseases you have & meds you already taking before using any new drug.
If you missed Pediatric Decongestant dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered if within an hour. If you do not remember until later, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the doses.
Pediatric Decongestant Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't store in bathroom.
