Warning: Propoxyphene should be used with extreme caution, if in all, at human who use alcohol; have a history of substance abuse or emotional conditions; or who already take drowsiness-causing drugs (e.g., antidepressants, barbiturates, muscle relaxants, pain relievers, sedatives). Fatalities have occurred in such patients when propoxyphene was misused. Patients must not take more propoxyphene then prescribed.

Propoxyphene HCL Usage: this medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
How to use Propoxyphene HCL: To prevent upset stomach, take with food or milk. Pain drugs work best in preventing pain before this occurs. one time pain becomes intense, drug isnot as effective in relieving it. Use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. do not increase your dose, use this more frequently or use it since longer period about time than prescribed because it drug can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period, do not suddenly stop using this medication with-out your doctor's approval. Over clock, this drug may not work as well. Consult youre healthcare professional if this drug isnot relieving pain sufficiently.
Propoxyphene HCL side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, flushing or vision changes. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your physician. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: irregular heartbeats, anxiety, tremors, confusion, depression, LBP, fainting, yellowing of the eyes or skin, seizures. at the unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or pharmacist.
Propoxyphene HCL Precautions: Tell you're pharmacist youre medical history, especially of: kidney or liver disease, breathing problems, alcohol and/or drug abuse, colitis or another intestinal/stomach problems, severe diarrhea, head injury, heart problems, drug allergies. Use caution when engaging at activities requiring alertness such as driving. Limit alcohol intake because it may add to the dizziness/drowsiness effects of this pill. Caution is advised when using this medication in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of med. this med should be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. this medication is excreted into breast milk. Though to date, no problems have been noted in nursing infants, consult you're physician before breast-feeding.
Propoxyphene HCL drug interactions: Tell you're pharmacist about all medicines you may use both prescription & nonprescription, especially about: carbamazepine, cimetidine, ritonavir, other narcotic pain medications, sedatives, tranquilizers, drugs used for anxiety or depression. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Propoxyphene HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include cold & clammy skin, low body temperature, slowed breathing, slowed heartbeat, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, deep sleep, and loss about consciousness.

If you missed Propoxyphene HCL dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
