Elixophyllin Gg Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Theophylline acts to widen air passages in the lungs to make breathing easier. this combination drug is used to relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Elixophyllin Gg: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase youre dose or take this more often then directed. it drug is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Notify youre physician if breathing difficulty continues or becomes worse.
Elixophyllin Gg side effects: Headache, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nausea, anxiety, irritability or nervousness may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to med. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify you're physician if you develop: chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, skin rash, vomiting, flushing, sleeplessness, dizziness, tremors, mental confusion. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Elixophyllin Gg Precautions: Tell your physician if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), high blood pressure, ulcers, seizures, glaucoma, allergies. Smoking can reduce effects of it medication. Inform your doctor if you smoke before taking this. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Elixophyllin Gg medication interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: blood pressure medications, anti-seizure drugs, antibiotics, steroids, thyroid hormones, water pills (diuretics), fluvoxamine (an SSRI antidepressant), birth control pills, St John's wort. Limit your intake about caffeine-containing products while taking this medication as it can increase risk of side effects. Caffeine is found at coffee, tea, cola, cocoa & chocolate. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Elixophyllin Gg Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, vomiting, fast heartbeat, restlessness, and seizures.
Elixophyllin Gg special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking it drug. this will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Elixophyllin Gg dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Elixophyllin Gg Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
