Pediatex HC Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. the antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Pediatex HC: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often then directed. this drug is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.
Pediatex HC side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur 1st several days as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. Pediatex HC drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription tablet you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this drug. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Pediatex HC Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or quick heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Pediatex HC special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Pediatex HC dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Pediatex HC Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in bathroom.
