Diamode Usage: it drug is used to treat diarrhea or to reduce amount about discharge in patients who have undergone an ileostomy.
How to use Diamode: Take this drug by mouth exactly as directed. don't increase your dose or take this longer than directed without your doctor's approval. in acute diarrhea this is usually taken since only two days. Treatment of chronic diarrhea may continue for up to 10 days. Notify your physician if diarrhea does not stop after a some days. While taking it tablet, drink plenty of clear liquids to replace fluid loss from diarrhea & prevent dehydration.
Diamode side effects: Stomach ache, nausea, vomiting, bloating, constipation, dry mouth, drowsiness or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. Tell some your physician immediately if you have this unlikely but serious side effect: stomach pain. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Diamode Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: liver problems, ulcerative colitis, if you have recently taken antibiotics, allergies (especially drug allergies). this drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging at activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol intake because it can intensify dizziness or drowsiness effects about this drug. Use this medication cautiously in children. this medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. It's not known if this medication appears in breast milk. Consult some your doctor before breast-feeding.
Diamode drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take, including: cholestyramine. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Diamode Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, slowed breathing, drowsiness or deep sleep, & slow pulse.
Diamode special notes: this medication must not be used longer than two days with-out notifying your doctor. do not treat children under six years of age without doctor's approval.
If you missed Diamode dose: Take each dose as directed. If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near the time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Diamode Storage: Store this medication at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 & 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store at bathroom. Keep this & all medications out of reach of child.
