Zosyn Usage: this tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various infections.
How to use Zosyn: this drug must be thawed before use. it may be thawed at room temperature or at the refrigerator. this must not be force-thawed by dipping it into hot water, nor by microwaving. this pill must be slowly injected into a vein over not less than 30 minutes. this is usually given every six to 8 hours, or use exactly as prescribed by some your doctor. this drug works best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at constant level. Do this by using drug at evenly spaced intervals. Use this pill for full time prescribed. don't stop using this without youre doctor's approval even if you feel better after some days. Stopping therapy too soon may result in relapse of infection.
Zosyn side effects: Headache, dizziness, nausea, stomach upset, or loose stools may occur the 1st some days as youre body adjusts to the pill. You may experience pain or irritation at injection site. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: vomiting, diarrhea, chest pain, anxiety. at the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or pharmacist.
Zosyn Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney problems, cystic fibrosis, another illnesses, allergies (especially to penicillin or other antibiotics). Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication makes you dizzy. Use about this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Tell youre doctor if you are pregnant before using this drug. this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before you breast feed.
Zosyn med interactions: Tell you're healthcare professional about every prescription & nonprescription drug you use, including: other antibiotics, blood thinners (e.g., warfarin), blood pressure tablet. this drug may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Zosyn Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Zosyn special notes: When possible, injection will be replaced by oral drug. If this med is used for an extended period about time, laboratory tests may be done periodically to monitor your progress.
If you missed Zosyn dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use it if this is near clock for next dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Zosyn Storage: Store in freezer in or below -4 degrees F (-20 degrees C). After thawing, drug is excellent for 14 days when refrigerated at or below 41 degrees F (5 degrees C) or for 24 hours in room temperature. once thawed, the solution must not be re-frozen.
