Giltuss Pediatric Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. this combination med is used to treat a cough & relieve symptoms associated with common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Giltuss Pediatric: it medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because long action will be destroyed & the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this medication as prescribed. do not increase some your dose or take this more much times then directed.
Giltuss Pediatric side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your physician. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Giltuss Pediatric Precautions: Tell you're healthcare professional your medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any medication allergies. cash this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it med should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. this medication may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult you're pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Giltuss Pediatric drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you use, especially: drug for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Giltuss Pediatric Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of the eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or quick heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, large pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Giltuss Pediatric special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Giltuss Pediatric dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if it is near the time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Giltuss Pediatric Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store at bathroom.
