Zosyn Usage: it drug is an antibiotic used to treat various infections.
How to use Zosyn: this drug is administered by slowly infusing this into vein over thirty minutes. it is usually given all 6 to 8 hours in evenly spaced intervals around the clock to ensure constant level of medication at you're blood. Use this med for the full time prescribed. do not stop using this without your doctor's approval even if you feel better after few days. Stopping therapy too soon may result in reinfection.
Zosyn side effects: Headache, dizziness, nausea, stomach upset, or loose stools may occur 1st few days as your body adjusts to medication. You may experience pain or irritation at injection site. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Notify your doctor if you develop: skin rash, itching, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, chest pain, anxiety, breathing trouble, swelling about hands or feet. Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness if it med makes you dizzy. Use about this medication since prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or physician.
Zosyn Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, other illnesses, any allergies (especially to penicillin or other antibiotics). this drug must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. since small amounts of this drug are found in breast milk, consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Zosyn pill interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: antibiotics, birth control pills, 'blood thinners', blood pressure medication. it medication may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods about birth control with youre doctor. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or doctor approval.
Zosyn Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures.
Zosyn special notes: When possible, injection will be replaced by med taken by mouth. Laboratory tests may be done periodically to monitor therapy if this medication is taken for a prolonged clock.
If you missed Zosyn dose: If you miss a dose, use this as soon as remembered; do not use it if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Zosyn Storage: Store single-dose vials at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C). don't freeze. Pharmacy bulk vials should be stored at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). dollars expiration date on the label and properly discard of any unused medication after that time. don't store in bathroom. Keep every medicines away from child & pets.
