Giltuss Ped C Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosen mucus. the decongestant relieves nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control cough. this combination pill is used to treat cough and relieve symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Giltuss Ped C: this medication is best taken with, or after, a meal or snack. Take this pill as prescribed. do not increase youre dose or take this more many times than directed.
Giltuss Ped C side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or anxiety may occur 1'st some days as you're body adjusts to drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your doctor. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify some your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, painful or difficult urination, tremors, nervousness, trouble sleeping, hallucinations. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Giltuss Ped C Precautions: Tell you're doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, history of med dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this medication causes you to feel drowsy. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. this product should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. at least one of ingredients in this combination product is known to be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Giltuss Ped C med interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take, including: blood pressure pills, antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.g., selegiline, linezolid, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or physician approval.
Giltuss Ped C Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Giltuss Ped C special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Giltuss Ped C dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time since following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Giltuss Ped C Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
