Suphedrine Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Pseudoephedrine is decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Suphedrine: Take it medication by mouth. this should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew the medication. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this tablet as directed. don't increase the dose or take this more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Suphedrine side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify youre physician if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this med can cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate it effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.
Suphedrine Precautions: Tell some your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, hypertension, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with youre doctor. it isnt known if this medication appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Suphedrine drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping tablets, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, pill for depression, drug for HBP. Tell youre healthcare professional if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Suphedrine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, fast or irregular heartbeat, and seizures.
Suphedrine special notes: don't share it product with others.
If you missed Suphedrine dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Suphedrine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in bathroom.
